The family lived within Buenos Aires until she was six then relocated to the Victoria region of London. Taylor Joy states that the move was very traumatic. Taylor Joy was unable to study English and was hoping to move back to Argentina. Hill House was the new school she was required to attend after switching from Northlands. She later enrolled at Queen's Gate School where she was a ballet student and performed in school plays. She quit the high school aged 16 to focus on her acting career. From a young age Taylor-Joy knew that she wanted to become an actress and her dreams came true when she was approached for a modeling gig from Sarah Doukas the founder of Storm Management.
